Radon Rough-In for New Construction
Installing passive radon protection before the slab is poured costs a fraction of a retrofit.
Rough-in vs. retrofit
A passive vent pipe and sealed sub-slab layer installed before concrete is poured cost meaningfully less than retrofitting a completed foundation, which requires core-drilling and routing pipe through finished space.
What design-stage consultation covers
Sub-slab vent placement, gas-permeable layer specifications, and vapour barrier sealing are all easier to get right before the pour than after. Multi-unit and subdivision projects can be consulted on at the plan level rather than unit by unit.
