Radon and Real Estate Transactions in B.C.
How short-term testing fits inside a subject-clause window, and what buyers and sellers should know.
Testing on a transaction timeline
Short-term testing runs 2–7 days under closed-house conditions using a continuous radon monitor, sized to fit inside a subject-clause window rather than the 90+ days a long-term test needs. It's a reasonable screening tool, though it gives a less complete picture than a long-term result.
Pre-listing testing
Sellers can test ahead of listing to establish a known result before a subject clause shows up mid-negotiation, rather than reacting to a buyer's test under time pressure.
